Serial L1425470 is a 1980s Winchester Defender, a 12 gauge pump-action shotgun with an 18-inch barrel and a wood stock. It is the plain riot-gun layout Winchester sold for home defense, and this example shows some light wear with overall condition described as very good.

A short-barreled 12 gauge pump remains a straightforward home-defense choice for a Connecticut household, and the wood furniture keeps it looking like a traditional shotgun rather than a tactical build. The 12 gauge chambering also means it meets the gauge rule for Connecticut deer with single-projectile loads, on private land in the November 18 to December 8 season or on state land where shotguns and muzzleloaders are the only firearms permitted, although the 18-inch barrel is better suited to close distances. Expect the finish wear of a 1980s working gun.
