Serial 630-H22YT-99 is a modern-production Charles Daly Model 601 semi-auto sporting shotgun in 12 gauge. The 30-inch vent rib barrel is ported, carries a 3-inch chamber and takes extended screw-in chokes. The receiver is aluminum, and the checkered walnut stock has an adjustable comb and a 14.25-inch length of pull to the original recoil pad. Finish wear shows on the wood, and the barrel has been polished bright with original blue remaining only on the rib, but the bore is excellent and the seller calls it a good solid shooter.

The long ported barrel and adjustable comb mark this as a clays gun, and that is where a Connecticut owner will use it most. The 3-inch chamber and 12 gauge bore also fit the state's shotgun deer rules, which allow single-projectile loads on private land from November 18 to December 8 and on state land during the no-lottery shotgun season on the same dates. Fit the right choke and it changes jobs quickly.
