Serial MV0547362 is a modern-production Mavrick 88 pump shotgun in 12 gauge, set up for defense with a 20-inch barrel chambered for 2 3/4-inch and 3-inch shells. The factory furniture has given way to a TacStar pistol grip, a TacStar forward grip and a TacStar side saddle shell carrier, and a fiber-optic front sight sits at the muzzle. The finish is matte black with light marks throughout, the bore is excellent, and overall condition is very good.

This is a home-defense configuration, and the short barrel and vertical grips reflect that purpose. In Connecticut a 12 gauge is also a legal deer shotgun with single projectiles, on private land during the November 18 to December 8 season and on state land where only shotguns and muzzleloaders are allowed, though a 20-inch defense barrel is a close-range setup. The side saddle keeps extra shells on the gun where you can reach them.
