Stoeger's Coach Gun is a side-by-side 12 gauge with 20-inch barrels, 36.5 inches overall and 6.5 pounds on the scale. Chokes are fixed, Improved Cylinder in one barrel and Modified in the other, and both chambers accept 2 3/4 and 3-inch shells. A brass bead sits at the muzzles. The stock and forend are A Grade walnut against blued metal, with a 14.5-inch length of pull. There is no manual safety on this model, and no optic cut or threaded muzzle either.
Stoeger lists three uses for it, Cowboy Action Shooting, hunting and home defense, and the short double does each without changing anything. For Connecticut hunters, a 12 gauge firing single projectiles is on the private-land list for the November 18 to December 8 shotgun and rifle season, and the state-land season in those dates allows only shotguns and muzzleloaders. Two shots and a break-open action keep loading simple and visible.
