Benelli's Montefeltro Silver Featherweight is an inertia-driven semi-automatic 12 gauge that weighs 6.9 pounds with a 28-inch vent-rib barrel. The alloy receiver is nickel plated and dressed with engraving and gold inlays, and the stock and slim forend are cut from AA-grade walnut. Chambers are 3 inches, the tube holds 4+1, length of pull is 14 3/8 inches, and overall length comes to 49 inches. Three Crio choke tubes arrive in the box with a wrench, Improved Cylinder, Modified and Full, along with a shim kit for adjusting stock fit.

Connecticut hunters can run this one from bird cover into the deer woods. The private-land shotgun and rifle season opens November 18 and closes December 8, and a 12 gauge firing single projectiles is on the list of legal guns there; state land in the same window is limited to shotguns and muzzleloaders, which keeps a semi-automatic like this in play. On Sundays, deer hunting is limited to private land.
