Mossberg 590 Nightstick 12 Gauge Pump Shotgun

Mossberg's 590 Nightstick is a TALO exclusive that pairs the 590 pump action with a walnut bird's head grip instead of a shoulder stock. The 14.38-inch heavy-walled barrel is a cylinder bore topped by a brass bead, overall length is 26.5 inches, and the piece weighs 5.8 pounds. It holds 5+1 rounds of 12 gauge with a 3-inch chamber, and the receiver is drilled and tapped for an optic mount. The receiver is black anodized, the barrel and magazine tube are matte black, and the corncob forend is walnut with a strap for the support hand.

Inside, it carries the parts the 590 line is known for: steel-to-steel lockup, a pair of action bars, two extractors, an elevator shaped to resist jams and a clean-out magazine cap. The manual safety rides on top of the receiver where either thumb reaches it. Without a stock this is a close-quarters piece rather than a field gun, and the compact length is the reason to choose it over a stocked 590.
