The .50 caliber Accura MR-X from CVA pairs a 26-inch threaded Bergara barrel with the compact MR-X stock in OD Green, Gray and Black. It is a single-shot muzzleloader, optic ready, with standard sights fitted, and the threaded muzzle takes compatible muzzle devices. The short barrel is the point of the MR-X: a lighter, handier rifle for tight terrain that still has the barrel for longer shots.

Connecticut muzzleloader hunters get their season from December 9, after the shotgun and rifle dates end on December 8, and the .50 bore is comfortably above the .45 caliber floor. Because state land restricts deer hunters to shotguns and muzzleloaders, an MR-X also makes sense for someone without private acreage to hunt. Add a scope to the optic-ready receiver and the 26-inch barrel still swings easily through cover, with a single deliberate shot to make count.
