This George Wostenholm and Son bowie knife carries a 9-inch clip point blade and measures 13 3/4 inches overall. The ricasso is stamped I.X.L. and the blade is marked THE REAL I.X.L KNIFE / G. Wostenholm and Son / Washington Works. The guard is cast German silver and the handle is stag. It comes with its original sheath, which is missing its tip, and the seller grades it very fine.

A marked Wostenholm with its sheath is a collector's bowie, and the markings are what a Connecticut buyer should weigh: the full Washington Works stamp on the blade and the I.X.L. on the ricasso. The stag handle and cast German silver guard are as described, and the only noted flaw is the missing sheath tip. It is an edged tool and display piece, not a firearm, so it ships as a parts and accessories item straight to you.
