The FN 509 Midsize MRD is a striker-fired 9mm pistol designed to balance service-ready performance with a more compact carry profile. Its 4-inch cold hammer forged stainless steel barrel supports durability and consistent accuracy, while the shortened grip improves concealability without reducing the standard 15+1 capacity. The FN Optics Mount System allows compatible red dot sights to be installed, and interchangeable backstraps help tailor the grip to the shooter's hand. Standard fixed sights provide a dependable aiming reference when no optic is mounted.
