Colt Python 3 Inch .357 Mag Bead Blast Stainless Steel Revolver

The 3-inch Python is Colt's short-barrel version of its stainless double-action .357 Magnum, which also fires .38 Special. It is 8.5 inches long, weighs 40 ounces and carries six rounds. The steel is bead blasted to a low-glare matte, the muzzle has a recessed target crown, and the top strap is strengthened to put more steel beneath the rear sight. Sights are a red ramp front, which the user can change, and an adjustable rear target sight. Black Hogue rubber grips are fitted.

At 40 ounces with a 3-inch barrel this Python sits between a carry revolver and a range gun, and the adjustable rear sight lets a Connecticut shooter zero it for .38 Special and .357 Magnum alike. Handgun buyers in the state must be 21 and hold a credential; after that there is no fixed waiting period, only the dealer's wait for a DESPP authorization number. A revolver also leaves the magazine question out of the purchase entirely.
